Announcements (Week of November 16)
TRINITY LUTHERAN SCHOOL ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE: Due to COVID restrictions this year, we will not be able to have our annual push for items to be brought in. Instead, we are asking for monetary donations the week of November 16-23. The money raised will be used to purchase gift cards for those in need. We pray you would be as generous as you all have been in the past. As an incentive, PTL has agreed to give a Pizza/Movie Party for the class that raises the MOST money. (It would be broken down by percentages since some classes have more than others.) Church members may give directly by donating checks made out to Trinity School (Thanksgiving Food Drive on the memo line).
The Trinity Food Pantry currently serves five church and school families, including 15 individuals. Grocery store gift cards will be purchased through the LuHi Shoppers Blessings program and distributed to our families during the first week of December. As in past years, we will support the Springfield community by donating 10% of the gift cards to the Grace Lutheran Food Pantry, to be shared with those in need outside of the Trinity family.
DEE BOEHM CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE: Trinity Members are welcome to attend this private service on Saturday, November 28th. The Visitation will be at the church from 9:00am-10:15am, the service will begin at 10:30am with the committal to follow. Due to COVID attendance restrictions, please sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040d4eaea82fabf94-church or call the church to reserve your spot.
RED LETTER CHALLENGE: We are excited to announce that Trinity Lutheran Church will be introducing a new small group ministry program beginning in February 2021! We have selected the book, Red Letter Challenge by Pastor Zach Zehnder as our first study resource. The Red Letter Challenge is a 40-day program that challenges you to follow Jesus more closely by focusing on His Words – the red letters in your Bible. If you are interested in learning more, please visit http://church.trinity-lutheran.com/rlc. Let us know if you plan to participate by completing the form at the bottom of that web page. We hope you’ll join us in this powerful and life-changing challenge!
TRINITY AWARDED CEF GRANT! Trinity is delighted to announce that we were awarded a Church Extension Fund Outreach Ministry Grant. The $900 grant will be used to implement the Red Letter Challenge small group ministry beginning in February 2021. Plans are well underway with training the small group meeting hosts and the Red Letter Challenge workbooks have arrived. Watch for more details in the coming weeks about this dynamic ministry and get ready to sign up in January 2021 for the small group of your choice. Thanks, again, CEF for your support of Trinity’s newest ministry to connect and build relationships with each other.
Mite Boxes? – What are those? A mite box, sometimes called a “blessings box,” is used to collect free-will offerings to support national and district ministry grants from Lutheran Women in Mission. It’s truly amazing how God blesses our “spare change” with over 127 million dollars collected since 1942. On Nov. 21 & 22 we will have mite boxes set up at each service. We hope that you will join our ladies bringing in their mites by dropping in your loose change, cash, or a check. Personal mite boxes will be available for you to take home if you want to continue to help make a world-wide difference in the lives of many.

SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON THIS WEEK: Today’s Sunday School lesson explores, “Jesus Is Our Lord: Jesus Ascends to Heaven.” Students will learn that after Jesus descended into hell and rose again from the dead, He ascended into heaven to prepare a place for all believers. Families could discuss, “What does it mean to you that Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us?”

Follow these steps!
Due to the unique time that we are currently in, the submission process for announcement has changed. Check out the new way to submit an announcement below:
- Type up your announcement in a word document OR in an email. Specify how many times you would like the announcement to run.
- Email your announcement to the church email no later than the Thursday EOD before the Monday you wish your announcement to go out.
- If you don’t have an email, you can also call the church and tell Cheyenne your announcement over the phone.
- Church contact info: email@example.com, 217-787-2323 x 2
Things to note:
- Your announcement may be shortened according to space.
- Even if you specify how many times you would like the announcement to run, this is subject to change.
- Since our weekly bulletin has shortened greatly, not all eNewsletter announcements will make it into the bulletin.
We understand there is a lot of great information and announcements that need to be ran, and we can’t wait to start implementing more announcements going forward! We appreciate all of your patience with us as we figure out how to start getting back to “normal.” 😊
