SENIORS' MINISTRY
Trinity Lutheran Church values the gifts and wisdom of its senior members and offers specific Bible studies and outreach activities for this special group.
Seniors’ Bible Class
The Seniors’ Bible Class takes place every Tuesday morning at 10:00 am in the Sanctuary at our downtown church campus (220 S. Second St.). With a committed group of more than 30 attendees each week, comprised of both Trinity church members and visitors, this class offers a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and Bible study. The group, led by Pastor Hemenway, is currently studying The Great Divorce, by C.S. Lewis.
Pastoral Visitation
Trinity’s pastors schedule periodic visits with members who are unable to attend regular worship services due to illness or physical restrictions. If you would like to be added to the pastors’ visitation schedule, please contact the church office at (217) 787-2323.
Homebound Ministry
Trinity’s Building Caring Relationships (BCR) in Christ group regularly prays for our homebound members and reaches out to these individuals through cards and letters as they are able. If you would like to share a specific prayer request with the 70+ BCR Prayer Warriors, you can email bcr@trinity-lutheran.com.
Transportation
Members of the BCR group also provide transportation to church services or doctor appointments for Trinity church members as needed. Please contact Cathy Von De Bur at cvondebur@mchsi.com if you are in need of transportation assistance.
Grief Ministry
The Trinity Lutheran Church Grief Ministry Team reaches out to those who are grieving through cards and other forms of communication during the year following the death of a loved one. If you have suffered a loss in your life, please contact Sara Schlichting at schlichts@comcast.com so that we can offer support and encouragement during this difficult time. The Grief Ministry Team is part of Trinity’s Building Caring Relationships (BCR) in Christ group.
GriefShare – Take comfort in God’s love while grieving and sharing together to rebuild one’s life after the loss of a loved one with our GriefShare class. This class features help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member or friend. GriefShare is a special class and support group designed to help you rebuild your life after losing a loved one. We know grief can be unbearable at times and want to be here to support you through your journey. Contact Joleen at trinitygriefshare@yahoo.com.
Prayer Requests – Please let us know how we can be praying for you during this difficult time. Trinity Lutheran Church has a large and dedicated prayer team in place through our Building Caring Relationships (BCR) in Christ group. Prayer requests may be made to the BCR group by emailing bcr@trinity-lutheran.com. All 70+ members will be alerted to your present need and will have the opportunity to begin praying immediately. If you prefer, you may email prayer leader, Cathy Von De Bur at cvondebur@mchsi.com and she can contact the group on your behalf.
