NEW CHURCH SECRETARY: Hi friends! Cheyenne here. I wanted to say thank you for all the warmth and kindness you have shown me over the past yearish being your Trinity Lutheran Church Secretary. I had so much fun! I will still be working for the church – I am officially transitioning to a new position – Master Chief of Technology (I just made up that title hehe).
With that, I would LOVE it if you would give a warm & fuzzy welcome to Ms. Kathy Eggleston, our new Church Secretary! You may already know her from the school office, but she is super excited to also help out the church! Church hours will stay the same, 9-1 M-F. Have a great day!
DEE BOEHM CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE: Thank you to everyone who came to Dee’s service or watched it on YouTube! If you’d still like to watch, here is the link – https://youtu.be/5MGcPOuX9qg.
CHURCH VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We are in need of volunteers to help with changing slides during our church services. This is perfect for students who need service hours, or someone who goes to church regularly and would love to help! We will be putting together a list, and if we have many volunteers, you may only end up running the slides once every few months! Contact the church by December 18 if you are interested – firstname.lastname@example.org.
TRINITY’S 2021 FLOWER CHARTS ARE HERE!: Our new 2021 Flower Charts have been received and will be in place soon at the school and church locations. The chart at school is for flowers for the school altar and, of course, the one at the church is for the church altar flowers. Please sign-up and reserve those special dates for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions. Please be sure to clearly put your name and contact information on the date you want to reserve before it is gone. What a great way to help celebrate and remember those special times. If you have any questions, please contact Judy Fliege by phone (787-9011) or email (email@example.com).
THANKSGIVING DAY OFFERING. Thanks to all Trinity members for your grace in giving this Thanksgiving season. A total of $1,676.00 was collected; and, as approved in the Voters’ Assembly, these funds will be contributed to the Central Illinois District Lutheran Emergency Response Teams. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!!
ORDER YOUR CHRISTMAS POINSETTAS NOW: Ladies Aid will once again have white poinsettias to decorate the church this Christmas. The price is $14 each and the deadline is December 11. Those wishing to purchase one or more poinsettias may contact Judy Fliege by phone (787-9011) or email (firstname.lastname@example.org). Money may be mailed to Judy at 2188 Winch Rd., Springfield, IL 62707. Also, for those who go to church and want to order, a shoe box will be placed at both the school and church locations with tear-off order slips. Simply tear-off one of the slips, complete and return it to the shoebox along with your money or check.
RED LETTER CHALLENGE: We are excited to announce that Trinity Lutheran Church will be introducing a new small group ministry program beginning in February 2021! We have selected the book, Red Letter Challenge by Pastor Zach Zehnder as our first study resource. The Red Letter Challenge is a 40-day program that challenges you to follow Jesus more closely by focusing on His Words – the red letters in your Bible. Visit http://church.trinity-lutheran.com/rlc and view the introductory video to learn more. Let us know if you plan to participate by completing the form at the bottom of that web page. We hope you’ll join us in this powerful and life-changing challenge!
TRINITY YOUTH PROGRAM: Once the pandemic eases, Trinity Lutheran wishes to reunite the youth of Springfield to experience Christian fellowship and service. The best way to accomplish this is to take an accurate assessment of interest in the Youth program at Trinity. Please complete the following survey to let us know how you and your children would wish to participate.
HELPING HANDS SHELTER 2021 DATES: Please note the following dates scheduled for Helping Hands meals in 2021: 1/29 (Fri), 3/29 (Mon), 5/31 (Mon), 7/30 (Fri), 8/30 (Mon) and 10/29 (Fri). While funding for this mission has improved, we still need your support. Meal costs range $170 to $190 per meal. Also, there are discussions ongoing to expand shelter capacity, so meal costs may rise in the coming year. Providing a meal involves shopping for food, meal preparation and delivery to the Shelter. If you or your group are interested in participating in this project, please call Byron Welt at 803-0107. This is an excellent opportunity for Thrivent cards that need a home. For direct funding support, checks may be payable to Trinity Lutheran Church, memo line “Helping Hands”.

Due to the unique time that we are currently in, the submission process for announcement has changed. Check out the new way to submit an announcement below:
- Type up your announcement in a word document OR in an email. Specify how many times you would like the announcement to run.
- Email your announcement to the church email no later than the Thursday EOD before the Monday you wish your announcement to go out.
- If you don’t have an email, you can also call the church and tell Kathy your announcement over the phone.
- Church contact info: email@example.com, 217-787-2323 x 2
Things to note:
- Your announcement may be shortened according to space.
- Even if you specify how many times you would like the announcement to run, this is subject to change.
- Since our weekly bulletin has shortened greatly, not all eNewsletter announcements will make it into the bulletin.
We understand there is a lot of great information and announcements that need to be ran, and we can’t wait to start implementing more announcements going forward! We appreciate all of your patience with us as we figure out how to start getting back to “normal.” 😊
